A Love Note for Anyone With Depression

I am well-acquainted with Depression. We’re old friends. There are days when Depression sucks the air from the room and makes me feel so completely alone. Like my existence is a burden. Like there never has been or never will be anything “good” about me. This is a love note for the bad days. A reminder that we are worth something, even when there’s that whisper that tells us that we’re not.

Firstly, put your hand over your chest. Embrace the stillness until you can feel your heart beating against your palm.

That is purpose. That’s life force. The pounding of your heart is a thread that connects you to the Universe.

The entire Universe. It is made of the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. The silent shifting of the earth underneath your feet.

It is all part of you.

That feeling of detachment and of otherness? It won’t last forever. This feeling will pass, even if some moments the only thing you can do is breathe through it.

Embrace knowing that there’s a thread of life force that makes you part of me. That deeply connects you to all of the people in your life that love you.

And if you’re having a day when you feel like no one loves you? Realize that thought isn’t real.

There are people that love you.

There are so many things to love about you.

Don’t let Depression make you question your worth or your beauty or the fact that you matter.

You deeply matter.

You are worthy of love. And you are worthy of happiness.

I love sharing notes of love with you and with everyone else as well! Please pay it forward and send this to those that you feel need to hear it. Spread the love! Let the ones that you care about know how much they are loved and appreciated!
