Littlefoot

A Message From Littlefoot

This morning I created this image of Littlefoot from the movie the Land Before Time and I think it’s one of my favorites so far.

I wrote about why on Patreon, but I wanted to share it here as well.

I love things from my childhood, from books, to movies, to TV shows. So many of them had such a huge impact on my personality.

Growing up, I didn’t have a lot of people influencing me. My grandparents passed away when I was young and my mom wasn’t close to the rest of her family. Additionally, social anxiety hit me very young. I can’t really pinpoint why or how. When I was 11 I still had imaginary friends and I liked books more than I did people.

While it had many many downfalls and I missed out on a lot of “normal” childhood/teenage things – the awesome part about it is that I feel like my personality was crafted by those books and shows and movies and I LOVE that about myself. It made me creative, it wired me to see many points of view, and it encouraged me to create my own opinions and beliefs separate from the people around me. It taught me that doing the right thing isn’t always easy and it’s okay to be different and that things don’t always work out and that’s okay.

I learned so much.

Golden Girls taught me so much about tolerance and friendship and being able to laugh about life. Anne of Green Gables taught me that you’re never too old to use your imagination. The Last Unicorn showed me that sometimes love doesn’t win but that doesn’t mean the ending can’t be happy. And Littlefoot taught me to keep going even when things are hard.

So that part was pretty amazing. Sometimes you can acknowledge that things sucked, but also appreciate how they shaped you. 🧡
