I got home from work this morning and the first thing on my mind, aside from putting food in my belly, was celebrating the full moon (it’s tonight). It’s been a while since I got in touch with Lovely Lady Moon and my soul has been yearning for reconnection. I started to think about how I would love to be outside in the middle of the night, the moonlight glowing softly on me – all magical, witchy, and goddess-like and then I realized that I have to work tonight and it’s supposed to be rainy.
My next thought was finding a nice witchy ritual in one of my books. Ellen Dugan, Kate West, Ann Moura, were just no help today. Nothing felt right to me. Which is just how it goes because Spirit can be inspired by a book but it doesn’t come from a book.
So I let Spirit move me.
It was raining so I went outside and I stood in the rain, my face up to the clouds, and I let it wash away everything. I focused on letting go. Of letting the rain wash away the things inside of me that I was ready to be rid of. Pure bliss.
I came inside, dried off, wrapped myself in a warm blanket and made myself a cup of honey lavender tea. I anointed myself with frankincense and myrrh, pulled a tarot card for myself (Ten of Wands – so accurate), and then I journaled about where I wanted this powerful wave of full moon energy to be directed in my life while I listened to witchy, mystic, music. The words poured out of me and I got clarity that I have been so desperately needing.
I just wanted to give this quick snapshot of what my Full Moon looked like. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or fancy, it just has to be true to your Spirit. Meet your spirit where you are right now. I encourage you to celebrate the full moon and the powerful energy of the Lady Moon in a way that honors your spirit.
I loved this. Thank you for posting. I have just moved houses and want to reconnect with my spirituality, which seems to have stagnated in the old place… looking forward to gentle tendrils of reconnection.
also, honey lavender tea sounds amazing!
