June Self-Care Check-In: Start Loving Yourself

It's time to pull out your handy, dandy, Self-Love Workbooks and start planning for June! (Sorry I'm a few days late!)

In the Self-Love Workbook, each month has a beginning and an ending. Fill out May's ending, letting go of all the things that went wrong, celebrating all of the things that went right, so that you can start planning for June. What are your goals and needs? How are you going to practice self-care while you're out there making magic happen?

This month, I have a self-care mission for you:

Woo yourself. Treat yourself in an adoring way because you deserve to be nice to yourself. For all of my fellow sisters that suffer from anxiety, depression, or other illnesses, I know how hard it is to muster up that effort. All I ask of you is to try.

Self-care isn't about being selfish. It's about giving yourself what you need to function at full capacity. It's the gas, and the oil changes, and the transmission fluid that keeps you running. When you neglect those things, when you run on empty, things break down. Fill yourself up this month. Don't run on fumes, don't push until you break down, love yourself. Wake up every day and ask yourself one very simple question:

"What do I need today?"

And then make the time to do that thing. Even when you're pressed for time, even when it's inconvenient, even when you can only fit in 5 minutes as opposed to the three hours that you're really aching for. Do it. Do the work as best you can.

Add self-care into your daily routine to take care of all aspects of yourself and your life. Cultivate a really wonderful life for yourself by making sure that your needs are always met, and exceeded, with a little sweetness to boot.

Focus on self-care this month.

Body Love: Do something sweet for your body. Yoga, walking, swimming, long, hot, relaxing showers, massages, better shoes! Anything that makes you feel better on a physical level. Doooooo it!

Life Love: What do you love? I mean really REALLY love? Painting, crocheting, dancing – do that thing that is yours and that makes you happy. Focus on living a good life this month, whatever that means for you.

Spirit Love: What makes your soul all shiny? Go to church if you haven’t been for awhile, meditate, listen to soulful music, spend some time connecting with Mama Nature. Pull out your crystals, chant your mantras, read the Bible, or a book of poetry. Whatever stirs your soul.

You Love: I have a mission for you, should you choose to accept it: Treat yourself like you would your very best friend or the love-of-your-life. Go out of your way to do nice things for yourself. Be gentle and kind to you when you’re having a bad day or not feeling well.

How do you plan on practicing self-care?
