Can you believe we’re already half-way through January, it’s time for a self-care check-in? It seems like just yesterday I was so excited for a brand new year. I don’t know about you, but it’s been a long year already! That’s mostly due to being busy (the good kind!). I am so excited to get started on the new ideas that have been bouncing around in my head.
I know most of us started off the year so ready to make positive changes in our lives.
So, let’s do a little mid-month self-care check-in.
Firstly: What’s the nicest thing you’ve done for yourself this month?
For me personally, I’ve begun to focus more on my spirituality, thus the creation of the MoonSisterhood. I’ve been spending time in my sacred space every day while I journal.
I use the Self-Love Workbook to kind of document my day, my mood, and my overall feelings, and then I use my journal as a container for mind-vomit. This is a fairly new routine for me and it’s working. I’ve been sleeping so much better and I feel so accomplished when I open my workbook and it’s becoming all full of words.
Secondly: Where do you need more support?
Are there any goals that you’re struggling with and you realize that it’s time to call in the calvary? I’m very much a book person, so if I find myself struggling with something I usually see if there’s a book that can help me. There’s nothing wrong with taking a pause for a few days to learn some new ways to cope or to accomplish whatever you’ve set out to do!
If you’re getting all self-improvementy-y this year, check out Youtube! There are a ton of great speakers and lectures you can find there about all sorts of things.
Maybe you need an accountability buddy? You can check out the SoulSisterhood. Post there and share your victories (or ask for advice!). There are also tons of online support groups for essentially everything.
Thirdly: Where can you do better?
That’s something I always ask myself, how can I do better? It’s not so much a criticism or to point out a failing, but an acknowledgment of what parts of my life are needing more TLC. I tend to get really focused on one thing and then neglect other things. So I’m constantly checking to see if I need to recalibrate and find balance. It’s a constant juggling act for me and I’m pretty bad at juggling!
Maybe you need to take more time for self-care or actually motivate yourself to start working on your goals.
Take a look at your life right now and ask yourself what you need.
Then give it. Without condition. Don’t push it back until later when you “have time” but take care of yourself right now, or at least as soon as possible. You should always try to make yourself a priority. It is not selfish to take care of yourself and push back plans to get things done for you.
Hello! This month has been pretty amazing. With the help of the Self-Love Mental Health Workbook, I am able to organize my thoughts :) I am seeing a new doctor that treats things holistically and that has been helping a great deal too.
