Morning Self-Care Ideas

When I first started my self-care journey, I thought that self-care had to be this big thing. Morning self-care meant waking up and not looking at your phone. It meant getting up for a yoga routine and a 15 minute meditation. It meant journaling for at least two pages.

And those are all wonderful acts of self-care that I’ve incorporated into my life at one time or another and that have been helpful. BUT there are little acts of self-care that matter too. We don’t have to change our lives into the “ideal” to practice self-care. We don’t have to do things that don’t fit who we are because it’s something that we see in magazines.

Here are some morning self-care ideas that might be a better fit!
💜 Say an affirmation or something kind to yourself when you look in the mirror. “You look cute today!” counts!
💜Make a list of things you’re looking forward to or things that you’re grateful for or a little word of encouragement.
💜 Organize your day with a to-do list. This is my self-care because if I don’t make a to-do list there’s a pretty big chance that by mid-day I’m going to be more stressed out than I need to be. I also include self-care into my to-do list like reminders to drink my water.
💜 Open the windows for some fresh air.
💜 Fill up your water bottle.
💜 Play upbeat music to put you in a good mood.
💜 Remember to take any medications.
