Lately, I’ve been immersing myself in the beauty that is Nayyirah Waheed’s book salt and I am astounded how a few sentences made up of words can have such a profound effect on me. Most of her poems are somewhere around 20 words and they’re so simple and beautiful. That got me looking at other mico-poets and their words about loving yourself.
Here are some of my favorite self-love quotes and micro poetry.

“i love myself.’
the
quietest.
simplest.
most
powerful.
revolution.
ever.” ― Nayyirah Waheed

you.
not wanting me.
was
the beginning of me
wanting myself.
thank you. ― Nayyirah Waheed

“i am mine.
before i am ever anyone else’s.” ― Nayyirah Waheed

“If someone
does not want me
it is not the end of the world.
But
if I do not want me,
the world is nothing but endings.” ― Nayyirah Waheed
