Good morning all!
Recently I bought a brand new oracle deck and I thought the message might give you a few ideas on how to be extra kind to yourself this month. Take a look at the picture above. Is there a card that resonates with you?
If you could flip over any card which one would it be?
Check the image below to reveal your card!
It’s a chilly day in my corner of the world and I’m cuddled up with a cat and a blanket and a hot cup of tea (sweet tangerine if you’re interested!). I just got off from my retail job and I’m taking a few moments to sit and breathe and allow myself to decompress. When I’m done with this post I’ll do the dishes, do 15ish minutes of yoga, play a computer game for an hour or so and then go off to bed with a book. I realize how blessed I am to have a life where self care is a priority. I look at my life half a decade ago and it’s like night and day.
This is your gentle reminder to stop, take a moment, and examine your own self care practices.
How are you treating yourself today?
What do you need right this moment?
Here are the cards and their meanings.
Card One: Zebra – Individuality
No two zebras share the same stripe pattern, each one is unique. The wisdom that the zebra shares with us is that we don’t have to conform to fit in or be part of something.
Find your own identity, your true self, and then find people that are like you, people that can be part of your tribe and accept you for who you are.
You don’t have to make yourself fit in to be part of something great.
Embrace your individuality. Express yourself in a way that you’ve always wanted to do but have been afraid to. Write something brave. Wear something brave. Do something brave.
Card Two: Cheetah – Vigor
Cheetah’s are the fastest animal in the world. They are known for reaching speeds of up to 75mph but they can’t maintain that speed. They can only run at the highest speeds for so long until they have to stop and rest.
This is a great card to think about in regards to those new year’s resolutions. Don’t get so caught up in the numbers when it comes to your health and fitness that you push yourself too hard or put more importance on the numbers instead of the effort and the way you’re feeling. Let that apply to everything. Sometimes you try, and try, and try but it takes awhile to see real results – in many things.
Your journey is about moving at your own pace and accepting yourself, not gaining the approval of others or trying to impress anybody but yourself.
If you’re trying to lose weight this month, or accomplish any goal in general, listen to yourself and your body, be kind and supportive to yourself and don’t push yourself too hard. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and burnt out. Take a little break and allow yourself to rest before you continue on. The only one you have anything to prove to is yourself.
Card Three: Spider- Weaver
The Spider has been a figure throughout mythology that represents the weaving of your own destiny.
You are in charge of your destiny. You are the one that gets to make choices that lead to your dreams coming true. Your decisions are so powerful and ultimately it is those things that you choose for yourself that create your web, your destiny. Make choices that are nourishing and that are in line with the things that you really want out of life.
You can re-weave your web at any time. Just like spider, when your web gets destroyed you do not give up, you simply create a new one.
Take control of your life and make a difference. Believe in yourself and your choices. If you’ve been working hard on something and someone throws a monkey-wrench into your plans or things don’t go your way, remember that you have the ability to start again.
