Transforming ‘the suck’ into beauty

Mornin’ beautiful blossoms! We’re officially two weeks into the New Year! How’s it going for ya? If the answer is not-so-good, here’s some advice: today is a new day, make it better starting now.

It’s never too late to have a great life.

I’ve been using my oracle cards a lot, they give me gentle wisdom and guidance, allowing me to see a situation differently. I was shuffling my Earth Magic deck, just looking at the cards and I saw this one. I love the colors and the clouds and looking at it just made me happy. I wanted to share its message with you today. The lotus flower is a very powerful symbol. It grows in muddy water, and it is this environment that gives forth the flower’s first and most literal meaning:

rising and blooming above the murk to achieve enlightenment.

This unique plant is rooted in the mud and muck at the bottom of a body of water, its stem reaching up to the surface, where the leaves rest quietly. At nighttime the flower closes and sinks below the surface, only to rise with the daylight and once again gradually unfold its petals, its stem extending above the waterline three feet or more.

What we learn from this amazing plant is how our own spiritual path unfolds and opens to the light, then at times gently folds in on itself for a proper rest when the daylight fades.

No matter what is happening in life, all of the mud and murk you’re dealing with, the lotus flower shows you not only that you can rise above it, but that you can use those experiences to fuel you and to fertilize what you want to create in your life. You can build upon those negative experiences and allow something good and positive to come from them.

You hear that? Just because sucky stuff is happening doesn’t mean you have to have a sucky life.

You get to be an alchemist, you get to turn those experiences into something else, something good and beautiful. Be an artist and use ‘the suck’ to fuel your writing or your painting or your music. Be a teacher and show others how to overcome. Be a Listener and let others know that you have been there and they are not alone.

When something bad happens you have three choices. You can either let it define you, let it destroy you or you can let it strengthen you. – Unknown

Take Blessing Manifesting. It was born out of two extremely emotionally brutal times in my life. I made this blog because I was going through a really hard time of losing a friend and I needed to focus my attention on concepts and tools that I had learned the last time I went through one of those tough times. My first breakup forced me to seek wisdom to keep my sanity, the loss of my friendship made me re-focus on all of those lessons and want to share them.

See? Awesome things can come from the ‘the suck’.
